Living Together_ Opening Ceremony Installation for the 9th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism / Architecture

The opening installation is a sphere assembled by nine groups of large lantern installations. The shape of each group of lanterns is based on the cone at the bottom of the brewery's fermentation tank, and the surface is covered with nine patterns of urban cosmologies, including earth, plants and animals. The installation is integrated with the opening dance performance, in which the dancers gather and combine the “petals” scattered around the site. The immersive performance format not only serves to introduce the relationship between the various exhibition spaces, but also integrates the audience's viewing experience with the interaction of the actors and exhibits. The performance echoes the theme of this year's UABB through the process of convergence into a coherent form, representing the harmonious coexistence of human beings and all creatures. Through the city we gather strength, and through the city we embrace the coexistence of diverse values. The aggregation of nine themes not only indicates the journey of the past nine exhibitions of UABB, but also expresses the symbiosis and friendship between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
